Intellectual Impairment (ID) is a neurodevelopmental disease. It is characterised by deficiencies in adaptive and intellectual functioning of various degrees. ID covers a wide range of abilities, disabilities, and strengths.
Due to the effects, it has on those who are affected, and the requirement for comprehensive support services, ID is a significant public health concern. Around 1% of the population is impacted by ID. Early diagnosis, action, and access to appropriate support are all necessary for managing it.
