Minimally Invasive or Minimal Access Surgery is our standard of care for both inpatient and outpatient procedures. We offer specialised assessment, latest treatments along with clinical post-operative care, medications and a regular follow-up. The advantages of this technique over traditional open surgery include a shorter hospital stay, faster recovery time; less pain and bleeding after the operation; and reduced scarring.

The Centre for Minimal Access Surgery at Sarvodaya Hospital is equipped with the latest technology and infrastructure, supported by an experienced team of surgeons. The department specialises in performing all major surgeries involving the abdomen, skin, breast, soft tissues, and hernias. Laparoscopic surgery also known as Keyhole Surgery or Minimally Invasive Surgery is a widely used surgical technique which when supported by highly trained doctors & surgeons, leads to surgeries with maximum precision, patient safety & faster recovery!

Dietetics Consultation: Before undergoing any surgery, a patient requires a proper diet. This is applicable post-surgery as well, as a special diet is often needed for a speedy recovery! We care for your health and thus we have a team of expert dietitians who provide necessary dietetics consultation to all our surgical patients.

Physiotherapy: Often in pre and post-surgery phases, patients need physiotherapy consultation. Our expert physiotherapists are experienced in serving the best therapeutic treatments to our patients.

We have a highly equipped general OPD for day-to-day patients to provide regular consultation and medical care. Our Surgical Ward is fully equipped with modern technology and infrastructure to serve the best surgical care. The centre is supported by a Critical Care Area for the treatment of patients under critical conditions or situations.

Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeries: These surgeries are commonly known as “Weight Loss Surgeries” Bariatric Surgery/Weight Loss Surgery includes:

  • Sleeve Gastrectomy
  • Lap Gastric Banding
  • Lap Gastric Bypass
  • Duodenal Switch

Day-care Services: These include those surgeries or procedures, which do not take too long, and if the patient meets all the necessary criteria, the surgery can be done and patient discharged in a day span! These are also called Ambulatory Surgical Services; they generally do not exceed 90 minutes in length and do not require more than four hours of recovery time. Patients suitable for ambulatory surgery may require some form of anaesthesia, as well as post-operative observation but can go home on the same day. These services are more cost-effective & convenient. Some of the services provided include:

We offer comprehensive services for all other surgical processes including Thyroid, Hernia, Simple Appendicitis, Gallbladder Infection, Gut Perforations, blunt or penetrating Trauma to Abdomen, etc.

Laparoscope: This is an effective tool used in Minimally Invasive Surgery for imaging and operative needs. It helps to conduct the surgery with minimal cuts and less bleeding.

C-Arm X-ray Machine: Used for its radiographic capabilities that allow fluoroscopic intraoperative imaging during surgical and emergency care procedures.

Cautery Machine: Used for haemostasis and tissue destruction by passing direct or alternating current through a resistant metal wire that stops blood vessels from bleeding.

ICG Camera: Used primarily in laparoscopic surgeries for imaging the visualisation of cells and tissues involved in certain areas.

Laser: For specific surgeries, we use a laser scalpel to cut tissues that offer reduce infection risk, maximum precision and less bleeding.

Harmonic: A surgical instrument, which uses ultrasonic vibrations to simultaneously cut and cauterize tissue with higher precision.
