The surgical oncology department at Sarvodaya Cancer Institute deals with the surgical treatment of cancer. We bring a dedicated team of surgical oncologists skilled at organ-specific surgeries under Head & Neck Oncology, Breast Oncology, Gynae-Oncology, GI Oncology, Uro-Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, Paediatric Oncology etc.
The surgical oncologists work with other team members to chalk out the precise treatment plan as per the type, size, location and stage of cancer. The aim is to remove the diseased tissue, leaving the healthy ones and ensuring the disease does not return.
They may perform Debulking Surgery to remove the tumour, Staging Surgery to determine the location of the cancer, Preventive Surgery to remove the cancerous tissue, Palliative Surgery to relieve the side effects, and other supportive surgeries.
The department houses advanced technology and patient-centric infrastructure. Before the surgery, we offer counselling to the patient, educate them about the procedure, clear their doubts and also provide them with post-operative rehabilitation and optimum care till recovery.
